How to Recognize the Symptoms of Cancer

Diagnosing cancer in its early stages is important for a successful treatment. It is important to be aware of what may be out of the ‘norm’ for your body and reporting any questionable changes to your health care professional as quickly as possible. Some things that you may spot can be directly related to the early stages of cancer.

Being aware of your body will help you notice if any unexplained lumps do appear so you can report them quickly. There probably will not be pain involved with lumps that are from cancer. Most lumps that do appear really are not connected to cancer but having them checked when they appear is the safest way to handle this.

A nagging cough and breathlessness or hoarseness can be caused by many things like infections and inflammations but sometimes it is due to lung cancer. If these problems continue for more than a couple weeks it is advisable to discuss this with your health care professional. Always consult a medical professional if you have cancer stages or symptoms of colon cancer.

Changes in your bowel movements like blood in the stool, the stool is red in color or unusually dark can be indications of bowel cancer and should be reported. When there is bleeding for no apparent reason it means there is something wrong and it needs to be check out. Nose bleeds and bruises can be alarming but are usually not cancer related but it is still best to report them. Consult your doctor if you have any cervical cancer symptoms.

Having moles does not equal having cancer but there is always a danger so it should be reported.  If you are losing weight and do not know why it is best to have a consultation with your health care professional to be sure it is not cancer related. At the end of the day, the best thing for your health is to report anything that looks unusual as quickly as possible. The greater chance you will have to correct any problems is to report a problem as soon as it becomes apparent.
